Child Safety Policy

1. Our commitment

Our books exist to make a child the hero of their own story. The safety and wellbeing of children is the most important thing we do — both in the books we make and in the data we hold about the children who feature in them.

2. Orders are placed by adults

2.1 Every order must be placed by an adult — a parent, guardian or other responsible adult. We do not offer accounts or sign-in for children.

2.2 When you order, you confirm that you have the authority to provide the child's details and photographs.

2.3 Children cannot upload content, leave reviews, or contact other users. There are no messaging, comment or social features on this site, and no way for one customer to reach another.

3. What we do with children's data

3.1 We collect only what is needed to create the book: the child's first name, age or age range, pronouns, appearance details, and the photographs you upload.

3.2 We do not sell or rent children's data, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing.

3.3 We do not build profiles of children, and we do not use a child's data to train AI models.

3.4 Access to child data is restricted internally to what is needed to produce the order.

3.5 Photographs and personalisation details are deleted within 90 days of delivery, unless you ask us to keep them for a future order. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

4. Content moderation and input

4.1 We do not accept content that is unlawful, harmful or inappropriate for children. Our system checks the text and details submitted with an order, and we may refuse or cancel an order that breaches our Terms and Conditions.

4.2 Where content is refused, we will tell you why and refund you in full where the order cannot proceed.

5. AI safety

5.1 Illustrations and story text are generated with AI working from the details you supply. Our generation setup uses safety filters that block inappropriate, violent or harmful output.

5.2 We do not permit our AI providers to reuse your content to train their models, and we share only what is necessary to create your book.

5.3 AI illustrations are artistic interpretations. We do not create content that sexualises, endangers or misrepresents a child in any way.

5.4 If any generated output is not appropriate, we will not deliver it — we will regenerate it or cancel the order and refund you.

6. Reporting a concern

If you see anything on our website or in a book you have received that concerns you, or you are worried about how a child's data has been handled, tell us immediately:

We aim to acknowledge safety concerns within 24 hours and to resolve them as a priority. We will remove content and take action on any account where that is necessary.

7. Compliance

7.1 We design our service to comply with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and we follow the ICO's Age Appropriate Design Code principles where they apply.

7.2 Where our customers are outside the UK, we aim to meet equivalent standards for children's data, including COPPA and the GDPR in the EU.
